Panaji:The Hindu right-wing campaign to ban cow slaughter in India Thursday got an unlikely poster boy. Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh said at a press conference that he was a “good Hindu” and wholeheartedly supports the ban.
Asked to respond to a resolution passed by an ongoing Hindu convention in Goa, seeking a ban on cow slaughter, Digvijaya Singh told reporters: “I, being a Hindu, support a ban on cow slaughter.”
He even went on to chart out a premise for banning slaughter of cows in India, dipping into Congress history as well as Mughal legacy to buttress his support for a cow slaughter ban.
“In the 1930s, banning of cow slaughter was part of the Congress party’s official resolution. In the Mughal regime too, slaughter of cows was banned,” he said.
He said the royal family of Bhopal was also against cow slaughter.—-IANS
It was a Greek High Priest of Idol Temples believed in re incarnation
& that human can return as a cow & he ordered banning of cow sloughter. But if go through Rig Veda Monustri etc Hindus used to
sloughter cows in their festivities.
Problem with Hindus, they are following sonatan Dharam & all Hindus.
Anyway Beef Eating was allowed as per Rig Veda 10/85/13 & 6/17/1
Refer.
Muslim rulers were busy with ruling & not on Islam otherwise they could
have brought amity between beef eating Hindus & Muslims.
It s sanatan dharma not sonatan dharam. I agree Hindus play in two different ways. They do sacrifices in the name of God which is forbidden and also against cow slaughtering. Both are in priciple are against the hindu dharma. Their should be complete ban on cow slaughterting in India and also sacrifice any type of animals in the name of god . Chinese eat Dogs , muslims eat beef , christians eat pork which is again forbidden across people as per religious sentiments.Never hindus sacrificed cows but horses used for sacrifice in yajnas.Cow is treated as mother Gayatri.
Lets respect everyones sentiment, ban cow slaughter, ban cow meat export. Ban pig farm and breeding. Ban pig meat. Allow sarificing other animals though as it is today. Lets be inclusive as PM suggested. May allah bless all.
lets ban all animals and allow goats and sheeps n poultry n camels, thanx to hindus if they agree
ya ok fine … lets ban all sort of meat products .. we will definetly wont have a problem .. so when will u start the initiative ?
“I agree Hindus play in two different ways”
Its not playing in two ways, but Hinduism ( Sanatana Dharma ) is essentially pluralistic. It means each follower of the religion can have his own view, its a right sanctioned by the religion, Its something healthier than everyone blindingly following the same book without questioning it. Because Hindu religion encourages to question, it has the highest number of atheists among all religions.
Too much freedom in Hindu religion make it appear like uncontrolled religion and too much restrictions in Islam make it appear like a rigid religion.
Both are not practical and undeserved by humans. Personally I practice no religion.
Mr. Soul, majority muslims would support cow slaughter ban just in the way as majority of the non muslims would support a ban on liquor. Muslims are unnecessarily making beef eating as an emotional and religious issue.
please dont do that and if u can cut animal head dont very & ready to ur turn life if a roll playing game of god so wait when ur number is come
then y do u cut human heads in kashmir?
because u ppl cut human heads first
@Safeen Chowdhary,it is not only a religious issue, but also it is a major issue of economically and socially affect our religious freedom.See what happened in MUZAFFAR NAGAR,how BAJRANG(Monkey)DAL SENA beat a innocent youth mercilessly,in d view of RSS ideology. How many people lost their earning in dis BAN ON SLAUGHTER OF COW.First u think about our MUSLIM COMMUNITY,how we are indirectly punished by this BJP government Which support by RSS AND SANG PARIVAR & LOCAL Activities
Cow is worshipped in India for centuries so taking that into consideration kindly avoid eating it. We people have sufficient food chain. Secondly this can be achieved only through educating people not by treathening. Ask these organisation to conduct some communication method with those people who eat it by going across India.
