Jaipur: In a strange move, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government has decided that sportspersons having any connection with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or the Jamaat-e-Islami will not be entitled for government awards.
The Star News channel on Saturday reported that only the sportspersons who have signed an affidavit saying they don’t have any links with RSS or Jamaat-e-Islami are being given state government awards.
The RSS has strongly objected to the Gehlot government’s move saying that the Congress is playing vendetta politics. ‘Rajasthan govt asking for affidavit of no RSS connection for sports awards is illegal. Officials responsible for the order should be sacked ’ tweeted Ram Madhav ,the spokesperson of RSS.
Jamaat-e-Islami has also protested against the state govt. order. ‘It is an illegal move of Rajasthan government, and unnecessary harassment’ said the head of Rajasthan Jamaat-e-Islami, Er Khursheed Hussain while talking to Muslim Mirror.
