By Muslim Mirror News,
Lucknow, March 30: Before me my two sons-in-law Kaluwa and Bhura were killed and put on fire by the rioters, then they tried to rape me. The culprits are still roaming free, said Farzana while narrating the incident of black June 1 of 2012 when Kosi Kalan town in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh witnessed bloody communal violence. She and 50 other victims of the town had gathered in Lucknow today at the public hearing organized by Rihai Manch (Forum for the Release of Innocent Muslims imprisoned in the name of Terrorism).
In the June 1 violence that erupted on a petty issue after Friday Prayer four persons including three Muslims were killed and dozens wounded. Besides, a number of shops and houses of the minority community were looted and put on fire.
Leaders of Rihai Manch and victim families demanded a CBI probe into the riot. They said that the victims have not yet got justice in this case.
Former IG SR Darapuri, who is General Secretary of Rihai Manch said: The Samajwadi Party wants communal polarization by putting the Muslims in the communal riots while the party has come to power last year with the help of the Muslims.
He further said that the way Police tried to protect communal politicians in the Kosi Kalan case it seems Kosi Kalan is not in UP but in Gujarat. Questioning the suspected role of the police in the riot, Darapuri demanded a CBI probe because he said the SP government would not probe the questions against itself.
Speaking to Muslim Mirror over phone, spokesperson of Rihai Manch, Mr. Rajiv Yadav said 27 riots have taken place in one year of Akhilesh Yadav government, it means more than two riots in each month, this shows the failure of the government. “We demand CBI probe into Kosi Kalan and all riots that took place in UP in last one year,” demanded Yadav.
The public hearing was also addressed by eminent personalities including member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Nasim Iqtedar Ali, senior journalist Ajay Singh, women activist Tahira Hasan, Dinkar Kapur of All India People’s Front.
Anchoring the public hearing, Asad Hayat, General Secretary of Awami Council said the announcement by the SP government in Vidhan Parishad that Police have given clean chit to MLC Lekhraj Singh is an attempt to hide the truth. “The fact is that rioters had collected the villagers in the name of Lekhraj Singh and Laxmi Narayan,” Hayat alleged.
