Lucknow, May 4: A crude bomb was hurled at the gate of famous Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema Friday night. Though there was no injury reported, it created panic in Nadwa. Police have collected parts of a sutli bomb from the scene, SP Trans Gomti, Habibul Hasan told reporters. No case has been registered.
It was 11:40 PM when a loud explosion was heard outside the main entrance of the institute. When night watchman rushed out to know what caused such an explosion, he saw a man running away from the band of river Gomti, chief warden Maulana Khalid Gazipuri said. He said it was impossible to run after the suspect as the band is barbed and one cannot access it from Nadwa road.
Muslims in the city were stunned after hearing the news and calls were made to media houses to know the truth.
There has been sharp reaction over the incident. Maulana Yahya Nomani Nadwi said it is an attack on the nerve centre, an act to terrorise Muslims. Since the new government has been sworn in, a series of communal violence has occurred in the state and culprits have no fear of any action by the police and administration, he said.
