New Delhi :Delhi violence has consumed dozens of lives- and affected many more. But the story of thirty-five-year-old Mudassir, a small-time scrap dealer in old Mustafabad is perhaps one of the most heart wrenching stories that has come across.
Mudassir who was killed during the violence which many term as pogrom against Muslims in the capital city has left behind his old parents, a loving wife and eight daughters.
Mudassir was outside his house in Kardampuri on Monday when he was attacked by a mob, his family said. He sustained bullet injury on his head and was declared brought dead by doctors at GTB hospital.
His wife Imrana is determined to preserve the memory of their marriage but is unsure how she would help realise the dreams of her husband.
Shifa -his daughter’s last memory of her father Mudassir Khan is a video call. But at least, the 15-year-old has a memory. Mudassir’s youngest daughter Inaaya is all of 15 days — too young to know her father, who was killed in the orgy of mindless communal violence that erupted in the northeastern part of Delhi last Sunday.
He left home on the morning of February 24 for a relative’s place in Kardampuri (Maujpur). As the violence started, he was warned that he stay back till the situation was normal,” said Muddasir’s nephew Arbaaz.
