New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister and Congress Veteran Sheila Dixit has blamed the central government for failing to ensure the fundamental rights of women.
She was speaking at an event organized by the All India Professionals Congress (AIPC) on the occasion of International Women’s day on March, 6.
Terming gender inequality as a critical issue Dixit said ” Every year one day should be fixed when women relax completely while men should perform all the duties, domestic chores and take care of children.”
The conference was also attended by the top leadership of Congress party and other dignitaries including Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ajay Makan, International Development expert Salman Anees Soz, AIPC Uttar Pradesh Chairperson Rani Ameeta Singh and All India Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev.
While talking to the Muslimmirror.com the All India Professional Congress Secretary (South Delhi, Chapter), CA Uves Ali Khan said, “The conference as conducted to aware people with women oriented concerns and we all need to come forward to promote the gender equality.”
