At least 22 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes since Tuesday.
The fresh Israeli aggression started after Israel killed Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu al-Ata along with his wife in special operation when a missile hit their home.
An Israeli warplane fired a missile at a residential building in the eastern Shejaiya area of Gaza before dawn on Tuesday, causing an explosion that could be heard from kilometres away. The missile hit the third floor, killing Abu al-Ata and his wife, reported BBC.
Four of their children and a neighbour were reportedly injured.
Shortly after the attack on Tuesday morning that killed Bahaa Abu al-Ata and his wife, salvos of rockets were launched from Palestinian groups in the besieged Gaza Strip into Israel.
In response to the rocket barrage, dozens of air raids were launched on Gaza. Overall, 18 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli bombardment in Gaza, according to health officials, reported Aljazeera
