New Delhi, May 20: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has demanded the Uttar Pradesh government of Samajwadi Party to give Rs one crore as compensation to the family of Khalid Mujahid as he died in the custody of government and the government could not ensure him justice and protection of his life.
While expressing deep sorrow over the brutal death of Khalid Mujahid on way to Lucknow from Faizabad court on Saturday, General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Nusrat Ali said: “This is not just brutal death of an innocent noble youth but also murder of human rights and outrage of the soul of justice, law and constitution.”
He strongly demanded the Uttar Pradesh government to award a compensation of Rs one crore to the family of deceased Khalid as he was in the custody of government which could not ensure him justice nor protect his life. He also demanded arrest of the policemen who wrongly arrested him and prosecution of the jail authorities who pushed him to death.
“The whole responsibility of mysterious death of Khalid Mujahid rests on the present and previous government of Uttar Pradesh, so by giving adequate compensation to his family and by prosecuting the guilty policemen and jail officials the demands of justice can be met,” said Nusrat Ali.
He expressed hope that the government of Uttar Pradesh won’t make any delay in the fulfilling these demands and would release all arrested innocent Muslim youths.
