New Delhi, Jan 13 : Vice Chancellor of Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI), Najma Akhtar, on Monday had to face the wrath of agitating students for not filing FIR against guilty policemen who attacked on Jamia last month.
More the 200 students were injured in police action and several critically injured when police attacked on students who were protesting against CAA on December 15.
Students of Jamia Millia Islamia on Monday surrounded the Vice Chancellor”s office to press for their charter of demands. Organised under the banner of Jamia Coordination Committee, the students gathered at noon near the Vice Chancellor”s office to set up a blockade.
The students demanded that an FIR be registered against the Delhi Police for the incidents of assault on students on December 15. The protesters have also sought assurance of security for the students.
“We will approach the court for registering an FIR against the Delhi Police” for the violence on campus on December 15, said VC surrounded by angry students .
She further clarified that she didn”t issue any notice to vacate the hostels after the violence.
