New Delhi: The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has stated on Tuesday that it will be following the previous UPA government schemes for the educational empowerment of the minority communities. This was stated by Minority Affairs Minister Dr Najma A. Heptulla in the Upper House of Parliament in reply to a written question on minority education. She said the Minority Affairs Ministry has been implementing Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-Means based scholarship schemes for educational advancement of minorities.
The minister did not take the name of previous government but informed the House that the ministry is carrying forward previous minority welfare schemes adopted by the UPA. She said under Post-matric scholarship scheme, students are encouraged to pursue Technical and Vocational Courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres by granting higher amount of scholarships. Under Merit-cum-Means based scholarship scheme, students are encouraged to pursue Professional and Technical courses. Under this scheme, students getting admissions in reputed listed institutes are re-imbursed full course fee.
Fellowship is provided to minority scholars to pursue higher and professional courses at M.Phil and Ph.D levels through the Maulana Azad National Fellowship.
Under Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP), necessary infrastructure for education and skill development are created in the identified minority concentration areas. So far 117 ITIs, 44 Polytechnics, 645 Hostels, 1092 School Buildings, and 20656 additional class rooms have been sanctioned under MsDP, she added in her reply.
Why cannot BJP introduce new Minority Schemes, Is it they are not capable or have no intention to do so. BJP also will keep schemes just on paper without implementation. All minority welfare scheme are just lip Services and remain on paper only. This is more or less planned or intentional by Successive Congress govts for last 65 years. These Schemes never reached the deserving population. either15 point program, Schools , scholarship. declared amount never spent on poor. There is no implementation or monitoring mechanism for these lousy schemes .. This is just a bluff to suffering Muslim community for Votes by Congress…Muslims don’t Trust any schemes unless its implemented and benefited poor. Communally baise govt. officials and action less minority minister and departments are to be blamed. Many studies found problems in the delivery mechanism of minority welfare schemes. focused strategy to be adopted, making blocks instead of districts the basic unit for planning and implementing these schemes. Now an area-specific approach has to be adopted, benefits should go directly to minority-concentrated villages where a substantial number of Muslims live. Bottlenecks identified and the delivery system streamlined. BJP’s continues opposition to Muslim welfare, which it characterizes as “appeasement” is a matter of grave concern. BJP should begin to renovate its “Indian Muslim exclusion policy”. BJP’s anti Muslim mission, rhetoric had attempted demonize them. The malicious spread of “Muslim appeasement” stereotype itself is massively incorrect, just like BJP appalling ignorance.
