New Delhi: Sirajjudin Qureshi has emerged as winner of the elections of India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) for the fourth consective term. Qureshi secured 1339 votes while his rival Arif Khan managed only 702 votes.
Sirajuddin Qureshi is chairman and managing director at Hind Industries Limited and managing director and director at Hind Agro Industries.
The elections for 13 posts in India Islamic Cultural Centre were held on Sunday.
Sirajuddin Qureshi and Arif Mohammed Khan contested for the post of the president. Elections were held for the posts of president, vice president, the board of trustees and executive committee members.
SM Khan was declared winner of Vice president seat securing 1036 votes.
The main purpose of India Islamic Cultural Centre is to promote mutual understanding and amity amongst the people of this country and to depict the true face of Islam which is most tolerant, liberal, progressive, rational and forward looking religion besides being based on cardinal principles of human values irrespective of faith, caste, creed and color.
