New Delhi : Former bureaucrat M.P. Bezbaruah will head a nine-member high-level committee constituted by the Union government to look into the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord of 1985 that provides for constitutional guaranttes to protect the state's indegenous communities. Clause 6 obligates the Centre to provide constitutional, legislative and administrative measures to protect, preserve and promote the cultural, social, linguistic identity and heritage of Assam's indigenous communities.
