New Delhi: On the controversy of Green Peace’s foreign funding, a leading non-government organization has raised question on foreign funding to the RSS and its affiliates even as the central government is set to keep a vigil on the NGOs working in the field of environment following IB reports. It slammed the government and IB for ‘defaming NGOs which have been working for protection of environment and interest of poor and tribals.
At a press conference in the capital, the Indian Social Action Forum has criticised the IB reports that said NGOs as a ‘threat to national economic security’. Noted activist Savitha Krishnan on the occasion slammed the IB and other agencies for keeping a mum on the foreign funding to saffron organization which uses the money for political purpose and creating fissures in the society. On the occasion, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and noted rights activist Rajinder Sachar said that the government should be clear in its approach towards NGOs and did not harass them.
