Imphal: Al-Ameen Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Educational and Welfare Trust, the Manipur chapter of Al-Ameen Educational Society, Banglore organized its first educational convention cum felicitation programme at the D.M. College Multi-purpose Hall, Imphal, on November 28.
The function was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, MLA & Chairman, Wakf Board, Manipur Md. Fajur Rahim, former Chairman, Manipur State Minority Commission Halim Choudhury, Al-Ameen Educational Society and Al-Ameen Movement, Bangalore Subhan Shariff, Executive Officer, Waqf Board, Manipur Md. Nejamuddin Khan, General Manager & Co-ordinator, Al-Ameen Research Foundation, Bangalore, Abdul Rafeeq, Principal of Ghousia College of Engineering, Ramnagaram, Bangalore, Dr. Mohammed Haneef, Principal, Manipur College Dr. Raheijuddin Sheikh and President, Jamait-ul-Ulema, Manipur Maulana Sayeed Ahmed.
Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Md. Subhan Shariff and A. Halim Choudhury were felicitated at the function by conferring Education Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 for their contributions in the field of education.
Speaking at the function, Gaikhangam said a society or a nation can only be developed when all the sections of the society or the nation developed together. In Manipur where different communities have been living together, development cannot be brought about only by developing a particular community. We should work together for the development of all the communities. And education is one of the important means which can bring development in a society. Education should be made accessible to all irrespective of gender or community to bring an egalitarian society, he added.
Gaikhangam expressed hope that Al-Ameen Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan Educational and Welfare Trust realises its dream of uplifting the standard of humanity through education.
