Brig. Ali lauded the poetic acumen of Ms. Fatima and wished her a bright future both as an accomplished doctor and a top ranking poetess. He expressed his fondness in poetry and urged the students to involve in literary activities along with their studies.

Dr Asim Siddiqui pointed out that Fatima Khan’s poetry represents emotions in art forms. There is no excess of emotion in her poetry, rather her poems are characterized by a touch of restraint and balance. Dr. Siddiqui also praised Fatimah Khan’s power of expression which drew on contemporary idiom.

Professor Shafey Kidwai said that often the most apparent meaning is attacked and subverted in Fatima Khan’s poetry. He pointed out that even the poems which are apparently about ordinary subjects acquire a deeper meaning in her hands.

Fatima Khan spoke about her book and her journey from her first poem to publishing of the book. She also read out a part from her favourite poem, The Spirit which touched a chord with the spirit of the audience. She thanked all her well wishers, including the publisher Ibn Sina Academy, who helped in the publication of the book.

Miss Alia Khan recited verses from the Holy Quran and Mr Fawaz Shaheen conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.

On this occasion, Professor Hakeem Syed Zillur Rahman, Professor Tariq Mansoor, Professor Zulfia Khan, Professor Munawwar Hussain, Dr Samina Khan, Dr FS Sheerani, Dr Jameel Ahmad, Dr Ziaur Rahman and a number of students of Medical College and AMU were present.
