AMU holds national workshop on Earthquake Engineering

AMUAligarh, April 20: The Department of Civil Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a National Workshop on “Structural Aspects of Earthquake Engineering” under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP-II).


Prof. M M Ashhar, Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering welcomed the guests, resource persons and participants. Prof. Hamid Ali, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology was the Chief Guest and Prof. Anwaruddin Anwar, TEQIP-II Coordinator was the guest of honor.

Prof. S.K. Jain, Department of Civil Engineering, MITS, Gwalior delivered lecture on “Earthquake Resistant Design Philosophies”.

Prof. M.K. Bharadwaj, School of Engineering and Technology, IGNOU, New Delhi delivered lecture on “The Concept and salient features of Earthquake Resistant Structures”.

Prof. Mehtab Alam, Department of Civil Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi delivered lecture on “Response Spectra and Response Spectrum of Analysis”.

Prof. S.K. Jain, and Prof. Mehtab Alam distributed certificates to participants.

Dr. Iqbal Khaleel Khan, Chairman of the workshop introduced the theme of workshop and organizing secretary Dr. Rehan A. Khan proposed vote of thanks.
