Rihai Manch hosts iftar in Lucknow on 20th July 2013

Lucknow, July 21: On the completion of 60 days of its indefinite dharna seeking justice for Khalid Mujahid, Rihai Manch on Saturday hosted an Iftar party where all sections of the Muslim community offered prayers for justice to Khalid Mujahid.

Jaunpur youth Khalid Mujahid was abducted by police in December 2007 and later implicated in terror cases. His arrest was found fake and illegal by a government appointed panel RD Nimesh commission but the government did not act on the recommendations of the panel and thus he continued in jail, and on 18th May 2013 he died in mysterious condition in police van while he was being taken from Faizabad court to Lucknow jail.

From the next day, Rihai Manch and its members sat on indefinite dharna demanding arrest of the accused police officers and action on the recommendations of the RD Nimesh commission. The Samajwadi Party government of Uttar Pradesh has not heeded to the demands.

Before Iftar and Maghrib prayer, Adv. MA Hasib, president, Akhil Bharatiya Muslim Samaj led prayers. He prayed Allah for punishment to the killers of Khalid Mujahid and for release of all innocents languishing in jails.
