The camp called The camp, ‘Shourya Prashikshana Varga’ (bravery) programme was held between 5 and 11 May at the Sai Shankar Educational Institution in Ponnampet in the district and was participated by 116 people.

A police complaint has been filed against several persons, including a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and MLC by Popular Front of India’s political wing Social Democratic Party of India.

“Love jihad”, religious conversion and cow slaughters were discussed at the event, said Bajrang Dal  Raghu Sakleshpura. This clearly tells that such connotations were used to prepare youngsters to unleash violence on Muslim citizens of India.

Raghu Sakleshpur claimed that air guns and trishuls do not attract provisions of the Arms Act. “We used air guns for training and that doesn’t come under the Arms Act. It was to train them about how they work and trishul too does not come under the Arms Act,” he added.

Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad along with others have condemned the training camp. “Bajrang Dal is destroying young lives by training them to unleash violence in the name of religion,” he said in a tweet.
