Friday prayers were not held by Muslims at three designated sites in Gurugram, Haryana as ‘Goverdham puja’ events were held at the same places by extremist Hindu leaders including BJP’s Kapil Mishra.
The prayers were not held at three places — Sector 12, Sector 47 and Sector 18 — while the prayers happened peacefully at the rest of the designated sites, The Indian Express reported.
Kapil Mishra attended the ‘Goverdham puja’ event held in Sector 12.
“Goli maro saalon ko, Hindu ke gadaaron ko (Shoot the traitors of Hinduism)” slogan was raised at the site. Apart from that, all 26 people, who were arrested last week for disrupting namaz at the same site were facilitated by Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s international joint general secretary Surendra Jain.
Chants of “Goli maro saalon ko, Hindu ke gadaaron ko" were raised at a protest meet in Gurugram attended by @KapilMishra_IN against Muslims offering Namaz in public spaces. A similar Goli Maro slogan by Mishra led to the Delhi riots. What will this latest provocation lead to!

These leaders made speeches against offering of namaz at open spaces while invoking Pakistan and Shaheen Bagh.
“Do not use roads for your politics. We saw it in Shaheen Bagh. They had done tamasha by blocking roads. What happened? Has CAA been revoked?” Mishra said. He added that in the next 3-4 weeks, namaz will not be offered at any public place in the city.
After various attempts of disruptions by Hindutva groups, some representatives of the Muslim community had said they were willing to relocate, provided they were given alternative spaces or mosques built on Waqf land are opened by authorities.
