New Delhi/Kanpur: 34-year-old Ashraf Ali was killed by a group of three persons after he asked them not to urinate in public. He was first assaulted and then killed as the men ran their car over him.
Ali was the sole bread winner in his family. His 28-year-old wife and three minor daughters are left in a lurch following his death. They live a rented house and own no property to rely on.
According to the family, the men, who were allegedly drunk, ran the car over him when he was on phone call with his landlord, Kuldip Kapoor, telling him about the attack. He was in the midst of the phone call, saying that car was directly coming to kill him when he was crushed over. The phone fell down and was recovered from the spot.
The police have arrested the three accused.
Ali’s wife and his three school going daughters have been left with no one to look after their family. Unfortunately, they have not received any aide or compensation from the government or any welfare oganisation.
The ghastly attack on a ‘family man’ without any provocation has rang an alarm bell regarding increasing graph of crime and insecurity in state of UP. People are shocked to notice whether crushing by vehicles is taking a form of lynching of helpless and innocent persons.
On the perusal of Adv. Sharfuddin, general secretary of All India Lawyers Council, Shabeena Begun, wife of late Ali has opened a bank account today. Those interested may support her financially.
