New Delhi: The Delhi Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against vocal youth activist Sharjeel Usmani for his tweets on the basis of a complaint a filed by Delhi BJP’s Media Head Naveen Kumar.
Police said they received a complaint from Delhi BJP’s Media Head Naveen Kumar who alleged that Usmani had tweeted against Lord Ram and late journalist Rohit Sardana, which were “defamatory”, “mischievous” and were intended to hurt religious sentiments.
Hindu population must acknowledge that their religious slogan has become a war cry and act to reclaim it from those who’ve been using it for violence and terrorism. It is them and only them who have to do it.

Kumar said he filed a complaint at Laxmi Nagar police station on Wednesday night.
The police took action on the complaint and a case has been registered against Usmani under IPC section 505 (statements conducing to public mischief).
Earlier, a FIR was also registered against Usmani for his tweets in Maharashtra’s Jalna district on the complaint of Ambadas Ambhore, a member of right-wing Hindu Jagran Manch
