New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India SA Bobde on Tuesday met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
RSS officials denied having any information about the meeting but reports suggested that it took place. ”The meeting took place between 4 and 5 pm at the RSS headquarter in Mahal area,” said sources,” an anonymous sourced told The Indian Express.
He also visited the birthplace of RSS founder K B Hedgewar in Nagpur’s Mahal area, according to a report by the PTI.
Bobde was a part of the four member bench that permitted construction of a Ram Temple at the place where Babri Masjid stood before its demolition by Hindutva terrorists including some veteran BJP leaders on 6 December 1992.
His predecessor Ranjan Gogoi was also a part of the same bench. After his retirement, he was offered the membership of the Rajya Sabha [upper house of the parliament] by President RRam Nath Kovind.
