An FIR was lodged at the Khairabad police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district against Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair for calling Hindutva extremist leaders, Yati Narasinghanand Saraswati or Mahant Bajrang Muni or Anand Swaroop, “hate mongers”.
The FIR was registered on Monday on the complaint of district head of Rashtriya Hindu Sher Sena, Bhagwan Sharan. He alleged that Zubair has called the aforementioned mentioned leaders “hate-mongers” as part of a “well-planned” conspiracy to spread enmity in society and hurt sentiments of Hindus.
Well done @vineetjaintimes! Why do we need Hate Mongers like Yati Narasinghanand Saraswati or Mahant Bajrang Muni or Anand Swaroop to arrange a Dharam Sansad to speak against a community and a Religion when we already have Anchors who can do much better job from News Studios.

Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) has been invoked in the FIR.
Narsinghanand, Bajrang Muni and Swaroop have a long history of making Islamophobic remarks and calling for violence against Muslims. A few months ago, Bajrang Muni had drawn widespread criticism for issuing rape threats to Muslim women.
