18-year-old Hiba Sheik has been booked by the police days after she had an argument with ABVP students as she was prevented by them from attending internal examination in Karnataka’s Mangaluru.
Sheik had filed a complaint against 10 male students for allegedly harassing her and preventing her from attending the internal examination. An FIR was filed on her complaint on 5 March.
Have been receiving threats on social media and have been framed over fake allegations but I would like to tell them that I'll never give in. #HijabIsMyPride and I'll continue to fight till the end. pic.twitter.com/d8SnK3fAZ4

After that, complaint was also filed against her and other Muslim students by Kavana Shetty, a student of the same college, who is associated with BJP’s student wing ABVP. She alleged that Sheik and her friends threaten her and other Hindu students. Her complaint was finally converted into an FIR on 7 March.
Sheik has dismissed the allegations labelled against her and her friends. “If she was threatened she could have filed the complaint on the day when I filed the complaint,” she said in a video statement.
“I feel they have got a case registered against me as part of a pre-plan… I am not going to quit fighting for hijab,” she said.
She further alleged that the IPC section dealing with ‘harassment’ was not incorporated in the FIR registered on her complaint on 5 March.
