Joy knew no bounds to the residents of Thirumarai Nagar neighbourhood, a Muslim mohalla in Podanur, Coimbatore when they celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with gaiety and religious fervour since this is the first EID after COVID pandemic. Kudos to the team of Masjidhun Noor Sunnath Jamaat in conducting the EID prayers at an open ground at MEWS school in the vicinity.

Thanks to Disco Kaja flower decorators for the make-over of Eidgah maidan colourfully with Mihrab settings and partitions. Moulavi Hafiz Mohamed Aariff Siraji, Chief Imam of the mosque conducted the EID prayers followed by sermon (Khutba) and a brief speech about the significance of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity. The event was short and crisp due to sweltering heat. Soon after the special prayers, Muslims did Musafa by exchanging Eid Mubarak by hugging each other thrice shoulder-to-shoulder to express their joy.

Jamaat president Aaju alias M B Sirajuddin, secretary Haji M Mohamed Ismail, Vice president N Zakir Hussain, Muthavalli K A Sulaiman, co-president Haji D Abdul Hakkim,  Deputy Secretary Haji K Ismail, Joint Secretary T S Ummar, Treasurer D Rahmathullah, Auditor H Irshad Ahamed, Manager S Moideen Basha and PRO R Riyasudeen besides the executive members were also present at the event. Tributes were paid to those from the Mohalla, who departed for their heavenly abode (from dar-ul-fana to dar-ul-baqa). Words of gratitude were made to those kind-hearted members’ for offerings during the breaking of fast at the masjid premises.
