Dr. Qutubbudin, a renowned psychiatrist based in United States has urged the Muslims to tread on the path of spirituality in a bid to elevate and enhance our connection with God,
“Many a time if you analyze things rationally it may not make sense
because the answers to those queries are rooted in spirituality,” he said while explaining the relevance of the sacrifice offered by Prophet Abraham in the name of God that marks the day of Eid ul Adha.
Speaking to Muslim Mirror he emphasized on the need to remember and recite the name of the Almighty and said that continuous remembrance of the lord creates positive energy that helps cleanse the soul.
“Rationalism may help us attain and achieve the materialistic goals but it is through spirituality we can unravel the worlds that are beyond the imagination of ordinary minds,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention that Dr Qutubuddin has also served as a president of the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI). AFMI is a philanthropic charity organization started by the highly-qualified and professional Indian Muslims settled in United States of America which aims at collectively striving to improve their socio-economic condition through education.
“In general, eastern psychology and eastern philosophes and religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam and Christianity have innate spiritual
connections and it is high time we explore them in a bid to overcome emotional and cognitive voids that mar the current world,” Dr. Qutubuddin added.
“Spiritual enlightenment is not a hindrance to intellectual enlightenment. Haj is the most powerful spiritual way of enlightenment, its a journey where you become the audience of God and talk to Him indirectly”, said Dr. Qutubbudin while emphasizing on inculcating spirituality among Muslims.
For me, the meaning of the sacrifice is in its metaphor.
For spirituality to rise, the only animal that needs to be sacrificed is the animal enveloped in the human.
