A Hindu woman, on whose complaint a Muslim man was booked on rape charges in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj, has changed her statement. She said she was “hired” by two men to frame the Muslim man in a “love jihad” case.

The woman, Radha, is believed to have withdrawn her allegations against the accused, Prince Qureshi after she was told by court that she needed to undergo a medical examination and that she might have to go to jail if her complaint was found to be false, The Times of India reported.

Aman Chauhan and Akash Solanki had hired her to give false statements against Qureshi. Chauhan has introduced himself on Facebook as district vice president of the BJP youth wing.

The duo along with Radha have been booked for criminal conspiracy. The two men were arrested but were released on bail.

Earlier, Chauhan and Solanki along with over 200 workers from Hindu right-wing organisations had staged a protest at the Ganjdundwara police station seeking action against Qureshi.
