Barabanki (UP): Hyderabad based Non Government Organization, Sahayata Trust in association with Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT), Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh) has announced to pay the BTech tuition fees of 150 students belonging to minority communities.
Those students who are desirous to study Bachelors in Engineering and can’t afford to pay the whole tuition fees, Sahayata trust will pay the remaining amount over the already arranged amount, either personally or through other scholarships.
The trust will pay tuition fee of 100 girls and 50 boys.
The minority communities includes, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and Jain.
Those minority students who have scored more than 65 percent for girls and 85 percent for boys in their 12th standard will have to take an online exam on JIT website (www.jit.edu.in). There will be 50 multiple choice questions from Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
“We had done a survey and apart from that there are lot of committee reports which says that minorities studying beyond intermediate level is very low, because of financial reasons as well as problems related to access to the colleges. To provide quality education in particular to the minorities, we have come up with this initiative,” said Syed AneesUddin, CEO of Sahyata Trust.
“The minority students get scholarships from Ministry of Minority Affairs, but in many cases that isn’t sufficient to pay the fees. Similar is the case with the other scholarships. So, what we have decided is, we will supplement the scholarship amount and pay the remaining amount to JIT,” he informed.
He further said that, the number of girls are kept higher as their literacy rate is quite low and they are the strength of this country and have every right to be educated
The online test for the fee waiver have started on Thursday, July 20th and will continue till Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Importantly, Sahayata trust is the sister organization and implementation partner of US based Indian Muslim Relief and Charities.
