They threatened to arrest me if I do not go to Delhi and record my statement. I do not know why the officers are trying to involve me.” said Adnan
Hyderabad Civil Society members had met the families during the fact finding exercise relating to the case.
“I had the habit of adding unknown people on Facebook so, unknowingly, added a few people, because of which NIA suspected us. I was just browsing about Iraq on the Internet, was just interested in watching the videos and read about Iraq but that doesn’t mean I am involved with ISIS. For this reason, the police counselled me two years back” Nomaan Jameel told media.
Adnan Ahmed said that he had been planning to visit Turkey. He had cancelled his visit himself, after which NIA had contacted him. He also said that he is not an ISIS sympathiser.
Adnan of Hyderabad and Nomaan of Kareemnagar were detained in 2014 as alleged ISIS sympathisers. They were counselled by the police and let off.
The parents of the young men requested the State and Union government to let them live in peace and not harass them.
