Hyderabad, April 23: The Hyderabad police today averted a physical scuffle between Azampura corporator Amjedullah Khan and state minister Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud at a polling booth at Misrigunj area under Kamatipura Police Station. Goud junior was at the booth with armed gunmen who are actually deputed by the state government with his father minister. Corporator Khan objected to Goud’s presence with armed gunmen at the polling booth. This led to a near-scuffle between the two, which was successfully averted by the senior officers of the Hyderabad police present at the spot.

Meanwhile, corporator Amjedullah Khan has sent a complaint to Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad detailing today’s incident and seeking action against Vikram Goud for using Police gunmen allotted to his father and ‘threatening’ him of ‘dire consequences’.
“…it is to state that today HMWS&SB Union Elections were being held and I being the Vice Chairman of Joint Action Committee (JAC) and was campaigning for its Chairman Sri E Pedda Reddy who is contesting the Union Elections. I being the Vice Chairman of JAC HMWS&SB was checking the Polling Booths along with some of HMWS&SB officials and MBT Party workers. When I reached at Misrigunj Filter Polling Booth coming under Kamatipura Police Station, suddenly around 11:30 AM I saw Mr. Vikram Goud S/o Sri Mukesh Goud, Minister for Marketing & Warehousing, Govt of Andhra Pradesh along with some 50 people in three vehicles came to the Misrigunj Filter and entered the Polling Booth along with a Two Police Gunmen allotted to protect his father in a capacity as Minister Govt of Andhra Pradesh,” wrote Khan in his complaint to the police commissioner.
“After entering the Polling Station he started distributing the Chits which was having symbol of Ladder and was asking voter to vote in favour of it. Any person other than HMWS&SB Employee who is a voter cannot enter into polling booth which accounts to violation of code of conduct and violation of Election rules & regulations. The Policemen on duty did not try to stop him but escorted him inside the Polling booth. When I objected to his entry he and his two Police Gunmen threatened me of dire consequences. He caught hold of my color and his both Gunmen caught my both hands and Vikram was seen shouting in a filthy language. He was there for nearly 25 min inside the Polling Booth. Again around 12:45 PM I saw Mr. Vikram was seen roaming near the Asmangadh Reservoir Polling Station coming under Malakpet Police Station with Two Police Gunmen again. The above act of Mr. Vikram Goud is not only violation of Code of Conduct of Elections but also shows the Illegal use of Police Gunmen,” wrote Mr. Khan.
He urged the police commissioner to take necessary action against Mr. Vikram “for entering the Polling Booth, for threatening me and using filthy language and also Illegal use of Police Gunmen’s allotted for security to his father.”
