Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it carried out a “retaliatory” missile attack at an Israeli “strategic centre” in the northern Iraqi Kurdistan city of Erbil. Iran made the claim after Kurdish Regional Government alleged cross-border missile fire on Sunday.

“Following the recent crimes of the fake Zionist regime and the previous announcement that the crimes and evils of this infamous regime will not go unanswered, the strategic center for conspiracy and evil of the Zionists was targeted by powerful and pinpoint missiles of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps,” Revolutionary Guard said in a statement.

The IRGC has issued a stern warning to Israel and its intelligence agency, Mossad following the attack. “We warn the criminal zionists regime again that if any crime and evil action is about to be repeated they will have to face our harsh and destructive response,” it said.

Sunday’s attack on Erbil comes nearly a week after two officers from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards were killed in Syria in a strike attributed to key US ally Israel. The stains officers were identified as colonels Ehsan Karbalaipour and Morteza Saeidnejad.
