New Delhi: Firdoos Ahmad Gogry, a research scholar of Jamia Millia Islamia, has received “Bill and Melinda Gates and Foundation Award For Scientists” to attend world Microbe Forum 2021.
The world Microbe Forum 2021 is sponsored jointly by American Society of Microbiology (ASM) and Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS). The event is about to take place online between 20 and 24 June 2021.
Firdoos received the award for his abstract entitled “Occurrence of high-risk mcr-1, blaNDM and OXA genes in bacterial isolates from Delhi, India”. He is among a few applicants around the world to receive this prestigious award.
”It is a moment of happiness and pride for me. I am getting so much love and blessing from my family and friends after getting this award,” he said while speaking to this correspondent.
He is enrolled in Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Qazi Mohd Rizwanul Haq, Microbiology Research Lab, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Natural Science, JMI.
The student belongs to Jammu and Kashmir’s district Pulwama. He did BSc in General Studies from the University of Kashmir and MSc in biochemistry from the same varsity.
