Mumbai : Mufti Mohammad Ismail of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is leading in Malegaon Center Assembly Constituency in Maharashtra with a margin of over 15000 votes while Shaikh Aasif Shaikh Rashid of Congress is trailing.
In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shaikh Aasif Shaikh Rashid won this seat by a margin of 16151 votes, which was 9.65% of the total votes polled. INC polled a total of 167416 votes.
Mufti Mohamad Ismail A Khalique won this seat in the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly elections, beating the INC candidate by a margin of 17919 votes. JSS polled 151280 votes, 47.04% of the total votes polled.
On other hand Advocate Waris Yusuf Pathan is trailing behind Shiv Sena candidate Yamini Yashwant Jadhav in Byculla Assembly constituency.
In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Advocate Waris Yusuf Pathan won this seat by a margin of 1357 votes.
