New Delhi: What sums up the appalling condition of Muslims in education in India, only two candidates could make it to top 50 in the recently declared NEET results. Mohammad Anas Mohammad Yunus Memon from Gujarat and Shabista Khan from Madhya Pradesh are the only two Muslim students among top 50 successful candidates of NEET 2018.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had released a list of top 50 successful candidates on Monday.
7.14 lakh students have qualified the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Medical/Dental colleges in India — 3.12 lakh are male and 4.02 lakh female. Some 12.69 lakh students had written the exam.
Kalpana Kumari from Bihar has topped the NEET 2018 with 691 out of 720 marks. She is followed by Rohan Purohit from Telangana and Himanshu Sharma from Delhi at No. 2 and 3 respectively.
Mohammad Anas from Gujarat has 26th All-India Rank and Shabista Khan from Madhya Pradesh has got 29th rank. Both have got 99.99 percentile score.
