New Delhi, Nov 14: The few Muslim “leaders” who attended the peace meet called by NSA Ajit Doval on Sunday are facing wrath of the community for not registering their protest against the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya.
Following the SC verdict in favour of the Hindu parties on Saturday, the National Security Advisor (NSA) had invited leaders from Hindu and Muslim communities, urging them to be vigilant against the “external forces trying to create communal disturbances”.
It should be noted almost all Muslim leaders accepted the SC judgment with some ifs and buts and also issued their statements in press stating their “displeasures and discontents” on the verdict. But the vigour was missing in the official meet with the NSA.
“I believe that the Muslim “leaders” should not have attended the meet at a time when the entire community is disappointed due to the SC verdict, it’s a totally unjust decision no one was expecting such unfair judgement from the Apex court. Muslim leaders must have registered their strong protest on this judgment when they med Doval” said Syed Ahmad Fuzail, a Gaya based activist .
However, All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawrat (AIMMM) president Mr Naved Hamid reportedly said that he had made it clear before Mr Doval that the Muslim community accepted this verdict with heavy heart for the sake of peace and harmony. When asked that the same was missing in the joint statement issued by the NSA office, Hamid said, “Yes, it did not reflect in the joint statement. I raised the issue then and there after which Mr Doval publicly asked his men on mike to incorporate the views expressed by me and other Muslim leaders in this regard.”
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind vice president Salim Engineer, who was also present in the meeting, too claimed to have raised the issue. However, these leaders signed the joint statement without getting their views incorporated into it.
Asghar Imam Salfi Mehdi of the Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadees (MJAH), who is known to adopt ‘holier than thou’ approach on such issues, did not speak a word on the Babri Masjid, sources said. The sources added that he was “more interested to make the event memorable” by jumping on and off for photographs. Roznama Khabrein, an Urdu daily, reported that the MJAH chief became supra nationalist calling India father of all civilizations.
“We expected them to register protest against the SC judgement before every venues. If they issue statements in press, why should they not directly tell the NSA. They did not show the guts. I am saddened to see the sycophants and the cahoots singing paeans to the people in power, It is disgusting to hear what Asghar Salafi said there before media, its really shameful” said Pune based activist Ali Inamdar .
Are those Muslim leaders so naive that were manipulated by NSA?
“I sympathise with their innocence. It was one of the most vital thing which should be very much there in the joint statement,” said Mustaqeem Makki, editor Huda Times.
Muslim leaders meeting with Doval is being equally condemned by Indian diaspora living in Gulf. “The animosity between the Hindu and Muslim communities is likely to reduce, albeit at the expense of Muslims’ defeat. However, the SC verdict is going to prove ‘final locks on the shops of Jamaats. Its good that a myth about them has been broken” said Dubai based businessman Saifur Rahman.
However architect Sadaf thinks differently “It’s wrong to raise question on their participation in the meet. By attending the meet and making appeal for peace, they have rather for showed restraints at the adverse situation. We should have respect for our leaders”.
As many as 30 religious leaders from Hindu and Muslim faiths attended the meet which ran for about five hours. All the leaders made routine appeal for peace and communal harmony.
First of all , the question is why these so called champions of Muslim community rushed to meet Ajit Dobhal. In the face of such a unique and unconstitutional judgment where was a need to respond to the invitation of a government which is from the day one hell bent to humiliate Muslims and Islams in India.Where was the need of to accept the responsibility of maintaining peace and tranquility in the face of a very illogical judgement. Did these self styled leaders of the community not know that this same Ajit Dobhal is the architect of the worst kind of cruelties and injustices heaped on the innocent people of Kasmir. Before endorsing the judgment of Supreme court and accepting the responsibility of maintaining peace and communal harmony did they raise any voice of protest against what our government, the biggest enemy of communal and social harmony, is doing in Kashmir.Do our community leaders know anything to say on the face of the government except ” Yes me lord”.Look at their group photograph after the meeting. Don’t they appear very content, satisfied and happy at what has happened and what the government promised them.Look at their shameless smiles that they are wearing on their faces. I don”t when our masses will wake up and hold these sellers of the community and bring them to task. Dear people, before raising fingers at the government, revolt against these’ Brutus ‘ of the community. Treat everyone of them as Burutus and deal with them as a Burutus should be dealt.
