New Delhi, 25 Aug.2021: “It very important for a scholar to be aware of the new emerging ideas and those people who abandoned acquiring new skills fell behind and became backward, because this is the age of ‘lifelong learning” said Syed Sadatullah Husaini,  the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind while addressing  a workshop on  ‘Curriculum of Madrasas, stages and duration’ organized by education board ‘Markazi Taleemi Board’ an education wing of JIH.

In this age, scholars and ulema have a great responsibility. Now the whole world is watching you from the local to the international level. The duty to convey the message of Islam to the entire humankind cannot be carried out just by learning the English language. However, it will be possible to perform this task after understanding the views of the addressee, their status, psychology, cultures, behaviors and ethics. All students have different temperaments, abilities and talents. Therefore, it is our duty to teach and guide everyone according to their abilities, mindsets and aptitudes, he added.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s education board ‘Markazi Taleemi Board’ has conducted a workshop here under the title ‘Curriculum of Madrasas, stages and duration’.

Emerging religious scholars and ulema from various states and institutions across the country including Darul Uloom (Waqf) Deoband, Nadwa Ulama Lucknow, Jamiatul Falah Azamgarh, Jamia Hamdard New Delhi, Darul Salam Umarabad Tamil Nadu, Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi, Jamia Islamia Ishaatul Uloom Akkalkuwa Maharashtra, Jamia Islamia Sanabal New Delhi, participated a unique workshop on the Madrasa curriculum held recently at JIH’s headquarters in New Delhi. All the participants appreciated the initiative of the board.

The workshop has covered a number of important issues and topics, including the revision of the madrasa curricula and the inclusion of modern sciences. Preparation of textbooks for Islamic schools and madrasas, technical and skill training of teachers, expansion of Islamic jurisprudence and theology, formats for measuring goals, enabling students to get national certificate along with religious education, incorporating useful components in the existing curricula and creating a spirit of discussion and research among students, are the main topics, which were deliberated in the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, JIH Vice President Prof. Mohammad Salim Engineer advised the officials of the madrasas to take advantage of some modern methods of education. On this occasion, director of the JIH education board Syed Tanveer Ahmed talked about the directive principles for formulating the curriculum.

Concluding the workshop, Chairman of the education board, Mujtaba Farooq has urged the officials of the madrasas to be aware of the latest situation and the government policies as well as to be alert to deal with adverse issues. Paying gratitude to all the participants, he said that there was a need to think and talk continuously on the topic. Dr. Mohiuddin Ghazi was the convener of the worship.

The noted scholars, who participated in the workshop, include Maulana Abdul Bar Asri Falahi, Mumbai, Dr. Waris Mazhari Delhi, Maulana Shakib Qasmi Deoband, Maulana Ahmad Ilyas Nomani, Lucknow, Dr. Tariq Ayubi Aligarh, Maulana Umar Abidin Hyderabad, Maulana Muhammad Huzaifa Vastanvi Gujarat, Maulana Mahfooz Falahi, Bhopal and Prof. Ishaq Falahi Delhi.
