Turkish troops in Afghanistan give aid to 200 families

Kunduz, Afghanistan: Turkish soldiers in Afghanistan delivered aid to 200 war-torn families in northern Kunduz province on Monday.

The Turkish mission in Afghanistan told Anadolu Agency food packets, blankets, kitchen sets, hygiene kits and toys were part of the aid given to 200 families, who had left their homes in Kunduz due to clashes.

In Kunduz, thousands of families have left their homes due to the dire situation in the province.

The aid packages had been prepared with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent (Kizilay).

Haci Bayram Rasuli, a war victim, thanked Turkey for all the help provided to people like him.

“Thanks to this help of Turkish soldiers, we will enjoy Eid al-Fitr. May God bless them,” Rasuli said.

This year’s Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr will be held in mid-June.

Afghanistan is expected to celebrate Eid on June 15-17, depending on the lunar calendar.
