New Delhi: Holocaust memorial exhibition, the first of its kind in the Middle East, has been opened at a museum in Dubai. This comes almost six months after UAE normalised its relations with Israel.
The opening on Wednesday at the Crossroads of Civilizations Museum was attended by Israel’s ambassador to the UAE Eitan Naeh and Peter Fischer Germany’s Ambassador to the UAE.
The museum’s founder Ahmed Obeid AlMansoori, said, “It is very important to us that we focus on educating people about the tragedies of the Holocaust because education is the antidote to ignorance.”
“As a leading cultural institution in the UAE, it is very important to us that we focus on educating people about the tragedies of the Holocaust because education is the antidote to ignorance,” he added.

The UAE has opened this exhibition on Holocaust days after Israel carried out several airstrikes killing more than 200 Palestinians including over 60 children.
On this occasion, some exhibitions were required to be opened about children killed in Israeli airstrikes just like the one organised in Denmark.
Israel was criticised across the world for its action but the UAE continued making deals with its stakeholders in Israel.
UAE’s hesitation to take a firm stand against Israeli aggression speaks a lot about its hypocrisy.
