Clare Daly, a Dublin-based MEP for the European Parliament, has noted that she finds it absurd that those who advocate for the arming of Ukraine never do the same for the Palestinian or Yemeni people.
“I find it laughable that the people who are calling for arms for Ukraine never call for arms for the people of Palestine,” she said.

“Unlike you, I oppose all war.”
A resolution denouncing Russia’s “intensification of its war of aggression against Ukraine” last week received 26 votes against it from members of the European Parliament, including the Dublin politician.
She and fellow MEP Mick Barry cast pro-vote votes for certain clauses in the resolution.
According to Daly, such measures merely serve to escalate the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, “whereas we must work to end the war by opposing it, which we are not doing.”
Additionally, she cited Nazi propagandist and leader Herman Goring to argue that smear campaigns and threats were used to convince people to go to war when they had no desire to do so.
“All you have to do is tell a nation that they are being attacked, denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and expose their country to danger,” she said.
Clare continued by saying that the European Parliament should feel guilty for disparaging those who oppose war by misconstruing their words and intent.
