New Delhi: Nabila Sadiq, a professor at Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia university, passed away days after tweeting an SOS for ICU bed.
She got a bed but her lungs were too damaged by then. She took her last breath on Monday at a Faridabad hospital.
Her students and acquaintances called various hospitals and finally managed to get a bed at Fortis Hospital in Faridabad. ”However, her oxygen levels dropped to 32%. After a CT scan, the doctor said her lungs were damaged,” Jamia student Waqar said.
Deeply saddened to hear the early demise of Professor Nabila Sadiq.

According to colleagues and friends, Dr Nabila Sadiq, a PhD scholar from JNU, was teaching and helping students with their thesis until April 20, The Indian Express reported.
Ten days before Nabila’s death, her mother Nuzhat (76) had also died of Covid-related complications. Her father was hospitalised for Covid but was eventually discharged and is under home quarantine.
Her father, Sadique (80), is a retired professor and have taught at Aligarh Muslim University and JNU.
