The Grand Mufti has urgently called upon the Prime Minister to intervene and rectify the perceived flaws in the minority scholarship system. Expressing concern over the current state of affairs, the religious leader emphasized the importance of addressing these issues promptly to ensure fair and equitable distribution of scholarships to the minority communities.
In a press statement , the Grand Mufti highlighted several key concerns within the existing minority scholarship framework. One of the major issues raised was the alleged lack of transparency in the allocation and distribution of scholarships, leading to suspicions of favoritism and unequal access among eligible candidates. The religious leader urged the Prime Minister to institute measures that promote transparency, accountability, and impartiality in the scholarship allocation process.
Furthermore, the Grand Mufti drew attention to reported delays and discrepancies in disbursing scholarship funds to deserving minority students. Stressing the importance of timely financial support for education, the religious leader called for streamlined procedures to expedite the disbursement process and ensure that eligible students receive their scholarships without unnecessary delays.
The Grand Mufti’s appeal also touched upon the need for a comprehensive review of the eligibility criteria to accommodate a broader spectrum of minority students. Addressing any potential biases or limitations in the current criteria would contribute to a more inclusive scholarship program, supporting a diverse range of individuals within the minority communities.
The statement concluded with a plea for the Prime Minister’s swift intervention and commitment to reforming the minority scholarship system. By doing so, it is hoped that the government can demonstrate its dedication to promoting educational opportunities for all, irrespective of religious or ethnic backgrounds, and fostering a more inclusive and just society.
