New Delhi, June 29: Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind is busy providing quick relief and humanitarian aids to the evacuated victims of devastated flood in Uttarakhand. Jamiat has also donated Rs 2 lakh to CM’s relief fund.
Jamiat first organized a camp at Haridwar railway station where the victims were given food materials and medical help. At present, the state unit of Jamiat, at the directive of Maulana Mahmood Madani, general secretary, Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind, is holding relief camp at Jolly Grant airport where the victims are being served packed food, biscuits, mineral water etc.
Jamiat relief team including Dr. Islamuddin, president, Uttarakhand Unit, Maulana Altaf, general secretary state unit, are working round the clock for providing relief and other necessary materials to the victims who are visiting the camp.
Besides, the Uttarakhand unit of Jamiat has donated Rs two lakh to the Chief Minister Flood relief fund through District Magistrate of Haridwar.
Jamiat is planning to provide relief and rehabilitation for the affected villages of the hillside whose homes, animals have been lost in rain fury and are among the worst affected. Once the permission is granted, Jamiat relief team will start relief work among them.
Jamiat general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani while reiterating that Jamiat is standing with the victims at the harrowing time has asked people especially philanthropists within the Muslim community for donation to the PM Fund to support the victims.
