Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that Muslims are increasingly recognizing that the Congress and the INDIA bloc are exploiting them for political gains, noting a shift in the community’s support towards the BJP. Speaking at a rally supporting BJP candidate Rekha Verma in Dhaurahra, Modi pointed out that the BJP’s developmental initiatives have resonated with not only the poor and marginalized communities like SCs, STs, and OBCs but also with Muslims.
He highlighted that schemes such as the PM housing scheme, water connections, and Ujjwala Yojana gas cylinders have been extended to all without discrimination, including Muslims. Modi suggested that this inclusivity has led Muslims to realize the political manipulation by the Congress and INDIA bloc, causing a distancing from these parties engaged in vote bank politics.
Modi criticized the opposition’s manifesto, equating it to the thinking of the Muslim League. He referenced historical figures like BR Ambedkar and Jawaharlal Nehru, who opposed religion-based reservations, contrasting it with the Congress and INDIA bloc’s stance of advocating such reservations. Modi cautioned against the dangers of religious-based politics, warning that it could fragment the country along religious lines.
The Prime Minister specifically mentioned Karnataka, where he claimed Muslims were abruptly classified as OBCs to provide them with reservations, echoing his concerns about a nationwide push for religion-based reservations at the expense of existing SC, ST, and OBC quotas.
He accused the opposition, particularly the Congress and SP, of practicing appeasement politics for their survival, asserting his commitment to preventing religion-based reservations and safeguarding existing quotas for SC, ST, and OBC communities.
Modi also criticized the opposition’s stance on Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing them of disrespecting Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution’s principles. He credited his government with abolishing Article 370, symbolizing a move towards national integration.
The Prime Minister questioned the opposition’s intentions regarding social welfare schemes like free ration and Vande Bharat trains, using rhetoric to highlight what he sees as the opposition’s lack of commitment to development initiatives.
Turning to agricultural issues, Modi addressed the challenges faced by sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh and outlined his government’s efforts to support them, including promoting ethanol production.
He also criticized the previous UPA government for its handling of terrorism, alleging that they compromised national security for political appeasement, and contrasted it with his government’s proactive stance against terrorism.
In conclusion, Modi’s speech in Sitapur portrayed a narrative of inclusive development and national security, contrasting his government’s approach with what he characterized as the opposition’s divisive politics and appeasement strategies. (with Agencies inputs )
I commend the MM for reporting the statements made by the PM as they were made without distortions. Also noted is the fact that no other news outlet has reported this as completely as the MM.
