Srinagar: Back to ground zero, the Centre today announced an end to the Ramzan ceasefire in Jammu & Kashmir. In a tweet home ministry tweeted today saying the Centre has decided against extending the ceasefire.
”The Government of India decides not to extend the suspension of operations in J&K announced in the beginning of Ramazan. The operations against the terrorists to resume,” reads a tweet from Home Ministry account.
The decision has been taken despite of the fact that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was pressing for an extension by at least two months.
Commending the security forces for displaying exemplary restraint during the period, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “While the security forces have displayed exemplary restraint during this period, the terrorists have continued with their attacks, on civilians and SFs, resulting in deaths and injuries.”
“It was expected that everyone will cooperate in ensuring the success of this initiative. While the Security Forces have displayed exemplary restraint during this period, the terrorists have continued with their attacks, on civilians and SFs, resulting in deaths and injuries,” Home Minister added.
On ground the situation remains grim with killings continuing from both sides. In the last three days, apart from Rising Kashmir Editor Shujaat Bukhari’s killing by ‘unidentified’ gunmen, an army personnel ‘Aurangzeb’ was abducted and killed by militants and a 13 year old boy was shot dead by security forces on Eid.
I have a question. What do non-NRI people think of this weird action? Dictate, negotiate, dialog? Then answer why the central government efforts are not succeeding. Remember, “dictatorship” is gone since 1989 (USSR gone), unending “dialogs” have yet to deliver any baby surviving pre-natal death. The majority does not want the minority to be their equals. They think they own them. They better behave. Else, the only other place is “shamshan” or “kabrisan”. Humans negotiate. I opt better to negotiate, settle for something like win-win to both J&K and the BJP central government. If I sound sarcastic, outlandish, or “unpatriotic” I am owning my honest “analytical” viewpoint. We can further debate it in an itemized way later. Share your thoughts
