Hyderabad : Telangana Home Minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali inaugurated the international seminar on Quran and International Quran Exhibition organized by the Consulate of Iran in Hyderabad at Salar Jung Museum Saturday. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Home Minister said “quranic teachings are the need of the hour.” He exhorted the community to work towards achieving peace at all strata and donating in charity for helping the underprivileged.
He said the Muslim downfall was due to the eventual estrangement and distancing from Quran and the teachings of the Prophet, adding attributing the Arab World discord to the distancing from Quranic teachings.
He urged the community to be tolerant and patient. Deputy Minister of Culture & Islamic Guidance, Government of Iran H.E. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hadi Fiqhizadeh, Mr. Mahdi Mahdavipour, the representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatullah al Uzam Khamenei in India, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hyderabad H.E. Muhammed Haqbin Ghomi, Director of Salar Jung Museum Dr. Nagendar Reddy were also present on this occasion.
The seminar centered around the contribution of Indo Iran Exegesits of Holy Quran. Research scholars from Iran and India discussed various aspects of Quranic teachings, and the constructive change it brought in Iran, particularly after the great Islamic revolution.
A variety of artworks were on display at the exhibition which also features more than 100 rare artworks showcasing Islamic calligraphy, verses of Quran presented in beautiful work of art by renowned Irani calligraphers, and rare manuscripts.
A 1400 year old rare manuscript handwritten by Hazrath Ali and the grandson of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) Hazrath Imam Hassan were also on display. These art works are regularly exhibited in Iran and in different countries, however this is the first time the exhibition is being held in Hyderabad.
The 3-day exhibition inaugurated today will conclude on 24th June and is open for visitors from 10am to 5pm.
