New Delhi : After fire broke out in Rohingya refugee area in Kalandi Kunj a leader of the youth-wing of ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Manish Chandela, claimed on social networking site that he set fire in the camps.
The fire broke at around 3:30am and destroyed all the 56 camps in the area where around 226 refugees used to live. At 1:16 PM the same day, Chandela, who uses twitter handle @CHANDELA_BJYM, tweeted: “Yes, we burnt the houses of Rohingya terrorists”.
Chandela later deleted his tweet supposedly on the advice of another twitter handle @BeholdShiv.
Different social and human rights activists have asked Police to arrest Chandela and investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, seeking probe Navaid Hamid, President, All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat has forwarded the tweet of Manish Chandela to the Delhi Police and Prime Minister’s Office. Hamid has identified Chandela as a member of BJYM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha), the youth wing of the ruling BJP.
Seeking action from the Delhi Police, Hamid tweeted: Hindutva foot soldier #ManishChandela who is member of @BJP4India youthwing #BJYM openly claims that he has burnt #Rohingya #RefugeeCamp on early 15April 2018 morning in Delhi. Any action @DelhiPolice & PM @narendramodi ji
