The Indian government on Friday restored the FCRA registration of Missionaries of Charity (MoC), a Catholic religious congregation founded by Nobel laureate Mother Teresa.
Earlier, the country’s Ministry of Home Affairs had refused to renew the MoC’s FCRA registration saying that “some adverse inputs” were noticed.
News agency ANI said the licence was restored after “necessary documents (were submitted) to concerned department”.

The FCRA registration is mandatory for any association and NGO to receive foreign funding.
Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien took jibe at the Narendra Modi-led government. In a tweet, he said, “The ‘adverse inputs’ harassed so many and then disappeared in two weeks.”
“The POWER OF LOVE is stronger than the power of 56 inch,” he added in an indirect jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
