Indian Union Muslim League chief Prof KM Kader Mohideen said that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sharma has posed himself as the dictator in the Hitlerian fashion by announcing the Population & Women Empowerment Policy of Assam.

He has announced that families with more than two children, will have no right to get any government job nor will they receive any benefits from the government’s welfare schemes nor will they be permitted to contest in the local body elections. The measures are set to affect the Muslim population of Assam.

At the same time, tea-estate workers belonging to scheduled castes and Tribal people are given an exemption to have four to five children.

”This policy of Assam is not only discriminatory but anti-secular, and unconstitutional. The Chief Minister seems to take pleasure in dividing the people and ruining the family life,” Mohideen said.

He called on the secular democratic forces in the country to unitedly condemn this anti secular policy and demands its withdrawal.
