Azam Khan’s Y-Category Security Withdrawn, Gunmen and Guards Removed

by Muslim Mirror Staff

Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has faced yet another setback as his Y-category security has been revoked. This decision comes shortly after his membership in the assembly was terminated, compounding his recent woes. As a result, the three gunmen assigned to his security detail and the guard stationed at his residence have been immediately withdrawn.

Additional Superintendent of Police, Sansar Singh, confirmed that the police received an order from the Security Headquarters SP stating that there was no valid justification for maintaining Y-category security for former MLA Azam Khan. Consequently, the deployed personnel responsible for his security have been called back.

According to media reports, a state-level security committee meeting took place on November 8, 2022, to assess the provision of VIP security. During the meeting, it was collectively concluded that there is no longer a compelling rationale to grant security to Azam Khan. Subsequently, the Home Department issued instructions to the Superintendent of Police in Rampur regarding the withdrawal of his security arrangements. Consequently, all the gunmen and guards previously assigned to Azam Khan’s protection have been recalled.
