New Delhi: A delegation of Islamic organisation Raza Academy on Saturday met Aam Aadmi Party’s Member of Parliament (MP) Sanjay Singh and urged him to table a bill in the parliament in order to prevent hate speech against Prophet Muhammad.
The delegation demanded the formation of a law against insulting remarks being made against Prophet Muhammad.
Earlier, the group had urged the governments of Maharashtra and Rajasthan to bring a law over the same. Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi has supported growing demand for the law.
Several individuals including those close to the government have made insulting remarks against Prophet Muhammad and hurt the sentiments of Muslims. Recently, Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati made filthy remarks against the prophet and was booked by Delhi Police for the same.
BJP leaders think that they are above the laws as they have been given the huge mandate to rule. Their disregard for our own constitution smacks of their arrogance and sense of invincibility. The day is not far away when the very people who voted them to power would show them the exit door for over.
Raza academy people meet an AAP mla, where is the BJP even involved ?? As for disrespecting the Prophet, disrespecting every diety of every religion and culture should be treated equally. Muslims think that everyone else should be secular and stay silent while only their thoughts and feelings are hurt. People are secular only until you are secular, when you speak as a Muslim, everyone else starts asserting themselves as Sanatanis, Sikhs, Parsis, Jain’s, Christians etc.
What’s the point, isn’t that what happens in a normal democracy ??
